WHAT IS FOOD HYPERSENSITIVITY?
Clinicians and diagnosticians are more and more convinced that Delayed Type Hypersensitivity to dietary components, namely food hypersensitivity, has significant effects on various ailments (e.g. asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, reflux, migraine and other headaches, body weight fluctuations, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, skin eruptions, atopic dermatitis, autism, ADHD). A model allergic reaction proceeds with exclusive participation of type E immunoglobulins which belong to a complex of antibodies of the immune system, and with the release of histamine or histamine-like substances from damaged cells. It has been found that mechanisms dependent on these immunoglobulins (IgE) do not explain many reactions to what we eat. Because of delayed symptoms and lack of IgE and IgG reactions, traditional methods are not effective in diagnosing diseases caused by mediators. It has been found that white blood cells have the ability to change their volume after contacting an antigen. This is due to the release of mediators by leukocytes and depends on the severity of the proinflammatory reaction. The development of the method of the objective measurement of volume change severity has contributed to the creation of the MRT test. The MRT test is a method of detecting the level of the released mediators. We deal with food hypersensitivity when what we eat stimulates the cells in our immune system and mediators, i.e. substances that cause inflammation of the intestines and other organs and various tissues, are released. This happens when you are hypersensitive to any ingredient of a consumed product. If you provide little of it, symptoms may not occur at all. Sometimes, your body may be allergic to more than one ingredient, but symptoms will be the same for all of them (and sometimes stronger and more severe).

WHAT IS THE MRT TEST?
The MRT test – Mediator Release Test – is an innovative method of detecting food hypersensitivity conditions specifying the degree of response to different foods. What you eat is unknown to your body in terms of the antigen – this is why the immune system is “interested” in your diet. If you do not have any symptoms, it means that the reaction of your organism is non-aggressive – this is food tolerance. If due to the fact that you eat a certain type of food too often, there are health problems which means that we are dealing with food intolerance. Then, the “interest” of your immune system changes into aggression and mediators are released – you feel pain and inflammation occurs which is difficult to diagnose. The solution is to make the MRT test. The high efficiency of the method when diagnosing food hypersensitivity has been confirmed by oral challenge tests, skin tests and an elimination diet. This test will determine the degree of your sensitivity to foods and food additives, and will eliminate the most reactive products from your diet. MAKING THE MRT TEST
In our office we take a blood sample which we then send to the ISO-LAB laboratory. We get the result in 2-3 days. The patient comes to discuss the results. Test results in the form of the LEAP Report Program also contain a Diet Management Plan. The results are discussed in detail with a Certified Consultant of the LEAP Programme (CCLP) – they cover three actions:
-elimination of harmful foods,
-cleansing the body of antigens,
-a proposal of a new style of eating with elements of an alternating diet.
